FREEMASONS SUPPORTING LOCAL SCHOOL Archbishop Courtenay Primary School Maidstone's Archbishop Courtenay Primary School welcomed Freemasons to their prize-giving which was held on Friday (July 2008) at All Saints church. Members of namesake Archbishop Courtenay Rose Croix Chapter (a Christian order within Freemasonry) provided the funding for the school's Excellent Attendance prizes which were presented by the Mason's representative Ray Gulliver, pictured here with Head Teacher Mrs Louise Stubberfield This will be the third year that we (Archbishop Courtenay Rose Croix Chapter No 246) have sponsored the Excellent Attendance prizes for them. This School is now called the Archbishop Courtenay Primary School and is coming about with the amalgamation of the College Road Primary School, and the St. Stephens Primary School, Tovil. The new premises to accommodate them will be built in Eccleston Road, Tovil, and will be completed within the next two years. |

We (Archbishop Courtenay Rose Croix Chapter No 246) are also doing another project with the school as they are now in the process of creating a football team to play in the local leagues, and we have again sponsored them by buying their football equipment, as the new Head Teacher Mrs Stubberfield says they may not have a football pitch of their own at the moment, but the pride of wearing their own schools football kit will certainly make up for that. |
