THE NATIONAL ANTHEM

God save our gracious Queen,
Long live our noble Queen,
God save the Queen:
Send her victorious,
Happy and glorious,
Long to reign over us:
God save the Queen.

Thy choicest gifts in store,
On her be pleased to pour;
Long may she reign:
May she defend our laws,
And ever give us cause
To sing with heart and voice
God save the Queen.

MAIDSTONE MASONS PAY THEIR RESPECTS

This year saw the 60th anniversary of the annual Remembrance Day event, and Maidstone's parade was again very well supported by the town's Masonic Lodges. A record fifty one members of the thirteen Lodges, most wearing their Masonic collars, marched proudly together behind Robinson Lodge's banner, which was borne by WBro John Ruffell. The Parade set off from Week Street at 10.30am, wended its way down the High Street where crowds lined the route, and over the bridge to the war memorial where a service of Remembrance was led by the Rev'd Canon Christopher Morgan-Jones and Major Graham Willetts (Salvation Army)

Wreaths were laid on behalf of the Brethren by WBro Peter Smith (Douglas Lodge) and WBro Philip Martin (Garden of England Lodge).

The Parade afterwards marched back to Week Street for dispersal, saluting the Mayoral and Civic Dignitary party en-route.

The event Manager on behalf of the Maidstone Masonic Centre Ltd was WBro Geoff Hart (Bearsted Lodge) and the contingent's "Director of Ceremonies" was former Royal Marine, Bro Neil Sadler (Agricola Lodge) whose commanding presence was keenly felt by all.
