Based in Maidstone, Chicory Tip are best remembered for their catchy pop song ‘Son Of My Father’, which topped the UK Charts for three weeks in 1972.

Founder members Barry Mayger and Rick Foster went through school together from infants up until 1961 when, at the age of 15, they left to take up apprenticeships.
It was when they joined a Youth Club and saw their first live band that they decided what they wanted to do. Within three months they had formed a group calling themselves ‘The Sonics’, and gave their first live performance during an interval spot at the Youth Club

	The ConChord Big Band was formed in 1990 and is made up of local musicians, both male and female and all big band enthusiasts. For many years we have been providing quality entertainment to venues located all around South East England and beyond. Wedding receptions, fund-raising events, local dances, private parties... you name it, we've probably done it at one time or another! Martin Forward leads the band which has developed from being a typical band playing music from the 30's 40's and 50's to become a highly entertaining show band with a wide repertoire that covers swing, jazz, pops, movie and stage music.

	The Tony Macauley / Barry Mason composition ‘Love Grows’ provided the first breakthrough for session singer Tony Burrows and Edison Lighthouse in 1970, selling 4.5 million copies worldwide. While Tony Burrow’s success continued with White Plains, Brotherhood of Man, and First Class, his original backing group toured briefly under the name Edison. Tony Macauley meanwhile retained the name Edison Lighthouse, and found another line-up for touring and recording. ‘It’s up to you Petula’ provided a second hit in 1971, and this line-up maintained the success with live appearances entertaining audiences around the world and building a reputation for providing Top Class Entertainment
